Prisoner gets jail time added to his sentence for vicious assault which left Milton Keynes prison officer with shattered jaw

Charlie Pearce, aged 20, of HMP Woodhill, pleaded guilty to section 20 grievous bodily harm without intent at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday 4 September.
At the same hearing he was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment that will be added to the 11-year term he is currently serving.

Hide AdIt is in connection with an incident on 5 September 2019 in which Pearce punched a prison officer who sustained a broken top jaw and shattered bottom jaw.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Lynda Stearman, based at Milton Keynes police station, said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a prison officer who was just doing his job.
“As a result of Pearce’s actions, the victim sustained serious jaw injuries that required surgery.
“I am satisfied that Pearce pleaded guilty and will now have to serve additional time in prison.”

“We are giving our officers tools like PAVA pepper spray and body-worn cameras to make their jobs safer.”
