Major supermarket reduces its opening hours in Milton Keynes due to coronavirus

The store, which is opposite MK Stadium near Bletchley, today posted a notice to inform shoppers of the reduced hours.
It stated: "Due to the current situation with the coronavirus outbreak, please note that we will cease 24 hour opening with immediate effect and until further notice."

Hide AdThe supermarket will open on Mondays at 7am and close at midnight. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays the hours will be 6am until midnight and on Satrudays they will open at 6am and close at 10pm.
Sunday opening will be as normal, from 9.30pm (for browsing only until 10am) until 4pm.
It is expected that other 24 hour superstores in MK will now follow suit.
Already 12 of the major supermarkets have issued a joint statement to customers outlining how they are "working to feed the nation" during the coronavirus pandemic.

Hide AdTesco, Sainsbury's, Co-op, Lidl, Aldi, Waitrose, Marks and Spencer, Asda, Iceland, Morrisons, Ocado and Costcutter have urged shoppers not to panic buy.
Their statement said: We want you to know that we are doing"everything we can so that you and your families have the food and essentials you need.
"We understand your concerns but buying more than is needed can sometimes mean that others will be left without. There is enough for everyone if we all work together.
"Together we can make sure we are looking out for family, friends and neighbours. Together we will care for those around us who are elderly, vulnerable or choosing to remain at home."

"Those of us with online delivery and click-and-collect services are running them at full capacity to help you get the products you need when you need them.
"We thank all our colleagues in stores and supply chains who are working day and night to keep the nation fed. But we need your help too."
